Strength, Integrity & Printability

The strength, integrity and printability of card based packaging and the shelf-life and contamination rate of products packed in plastic packaging or films are all controlled by exactly the same thing - vapour permeability.
Versaperm's latest range of permeability measurement equipment is designed to measure this, not just for the materials themselves, but also for the finished package. This is critical as manufacturing processes such as thermoforming or moulding etc. can easily change the package's vapour permeability by a factor of four. The sealing process can affect it by an even greater amount.
The equipment can optionally determine not just the permeability for water vapour and Carbon Dioxide, Oxygen, hydrocarbons and almost any other gas in commercial or industrial use as well. This gives companies the ability to produce increasingly effective packaging that protects, as well as extend product life and boost the quality of the product itself.
The Versaperm equipment is fast, reliable and easy to use - producing results that are accurate in the parts per million range, (parts per billion in some cases). For some materials this can take as little as 30 minutes. Where desired the system can control temperature, pressure and other important factors as well.
Multi-chamber systems allow measurements to be produced on several samples at exactly the same time and different designs and clamping systems cater for varying sample types.
As well as manufacturing the instruments, Versaperm offers a technical consultancy plus a permeability testing service for companies that need to test samples on an irregular basis.
